Carol Steinert is the first to speak in this collaborative space!

Another K-Pop blog at todateen. Yes, friend! But the idea of this blog is to be collaborative. So, if you are a superfan of this musical genre, love the culture of South Korea and can write well, you can participate in the blog. As? Write to us on social media. We’re watching!

What’s up guys?

My name is Carol Steinert and I have a YouTube vlog where I talk about K-POP and now todateen has given me the opportunity to talk to you about exactly that! But what is K-POP? A bunch of Asian people dancing and singing? Well, in a way, yes. But K-POP is much more than that! BTS, EXO, Twice, Red Velvet, Super Junior, Girls Generation, are just 1% of what this industry has to offer us.

Have you heard of A.C.E, ELRIS, Pristin, B.I.G, VIXX, VAV and KARD? South Korea is a big power, but the ‘‘ idol factory ’’ is much bigger than most people know.

Vocal training, dance, break even, shows every day, group competitions every day, disbands, rookie groups, flops, The Big Three, variety shows, etc. What is all this and a little more, is what I’m going to start talking to you from now on!

A little more than just a musical genre, this culture can be considered a lifestyle, making the Hallyu wave more and more present in those in its midst. K-Pop events, fansigns, fanmeetings in Brazil. What makes us love K-POP so much? Would it be the make-up, well-designed choreography, vocals, raps? The mix of musical genres that results in K-Pop or are those idols that look more like dolls that are so perfect?

I hope you come with me, and with the other people on the blog, to find out more about this wave that is conquering even more space worldwide. Find out who your bias is, ultimate and go even deeper in this incredible environment of dreamy and fighter people that is the K-POP industry. Keep an eye out and annyeong!

Ah, did you not understand some expressions that I mentioned here? I show you the translation here:
Break even: type of contract with the company / agency
Disbands: when a group ends
Rookie groups: novice groups
Flops: unrecognized groups
The Big Three: the three largest K-Pop companies
Bias: your favorite idol in the group
Ultimate: your favorite K-Pop idol or group
Annyeong: hello or bye
