What to say when I think of BTS? There are so many memories, so much experience with a group like this since the beginning, that it is difficult to put into words what this new album brought me.
More than just a fan, nowadays I have become a real admirer of the 7 Korean boys.
Not as if I wasn’t a fan before, but it is necessary to take a few steps back between the hysteria and the frenzy to reach the point of admiration that I reached this moment, in order, even, to return to write about those who really belong of my life in a way as intense as BTS. It is not for nothing that I have one of the symbols of one of the most important albums of these tattooed on my body, it is not for nothing that my channel was formed on large scales as it was done, precisely, and often, focused around this group of talent so absurd and that touched me in a much bigger way than just as another “fan”.
BTS had a gigantic scale of growth, in a chart that never stopped growing and my pride followed the same proportion, however, at the moment when the album PERSONA was released and with it the generic song ” Boy With Luv ”, my feeling for them, ended up becoming disappointment. The way the company succumbed them to become something promotional and focused on the American public and not on what was one of the reasons why many fell in love with them, I really distanced myself.
And was it enough? On the contrary!
When I heard, after many months later, that they had released a new single, ” Black Swan ”, I went searching for pure curiosity and felt something like a contagious nostalgia that made me want, again, to look for more, and what I saw it, I loved it again.
The essence of BTS, which I fell in love with, was back.
Listening to the album Map Of The Soul 7, in every song, in every lyric, BTS surprised me again with new melodies, not bought by Americans or completely promotional, but with a profound truth about each one’s most hidden feelings, being like two perfect examples ” Shadow ” and ” My Time ”, by Yoongi and Jeongguk, consecutively, and not surprisingly, remain my favorite members, although they are all one for me and many fans.
With each melody in the songs on this album, it is possible to see the growth of the group as a whole, but still a nostalgia for old albums like Skool Luv Affair and even Danger, which makes the experience of an early fan even more satisfying.
And after all this outburst, I would just like to confirm that BTS will again be VERY present in my playlists and I can’t wait for us to have, one day, who knows, a conclusion of the story told in the MVs by Bighit.
